Compute Cloud Attended Compute Cloud Housing

Dear LRZ Cloud Users,

Due to a scheduled maintenance the Compute Cloud will be unavailable in the week from Monday, 07.04.2025 until Friday, 11.04.2025.

All users will be affected. This includes Attended Cloud Housing customers as well as normal Cloud users.

We plan to update the OpenStack cloud infrastructure software. During the update we need to migrate all VMs to the new OpenStack version. There will be some signification changes in some OpenStack components including the virtual network stack and load balancers. We will not be able to transfer your load balancers to the new version.

We ask you to carry out the following steps yourself before Monday, 07.04.2025:

- shelve all of your VMs

- make notes about your current load balancer configuration, if any

- delete your load balancers.

You will be able to recreate the load balancers after we performed the migration to the new OpenStack version. The new load balancer will of the type Octavia, please see https://docs.openstack.org/octavia/latest/reference/introduction.html. If you do not delete them we will delete these components before starting the upgrade.
