Update 2026-08-25 12:30 The maintenance has been concluded! CoolMUC-4 is back in operation. Please note:

• There might still be issues with software packages. We kindly ask for your understanding that there may be delays due to the holiday season. We are working on it.
• We observed issues on a few housing systems, that should be resolved shortly.

Update 2026-08-24 18:00 The maintenance needed to be extended. We plan to open CoolMUC-4 tomorrow during business hours after noon.

After the recent update of the CoolMUC-4 login nodes we will also raise the compute nodes of CoolMUC-4 and the housing systems to SLES-15.7., so the systems will be in sync again. This will make compiling on a separate development node obsolete.

After the upgrade will will keep the current stack as default; also all of your self-compiled software should still work. In addition we will provide a preview of a new software stack that is generically build to run on all architectures of CoolMUC-4 and the housing systems (details will follow).
