Migration of LRZ Mailman 2 mailing lists to Mailman 3

As the software currently in use (Mailman 2) is no longer supported, the lists need to be migrated to the new mailing list server (Mailman 3).
Basically, nothing will change in the way the lists work, i.e. the mail flow will continue to function as before.
The configuration of the lists will also be transferred as far as possible.

What do you need to do?

• If you have customised the information page of your mailing list, please back it up in advance
• Check the settings of your list after the migration is complete

How does the migration work?

• During the migration, web access for configuring the lists will be disabled
• Any changes made during this time (e.g. via email commands) must be repeated after the migration
• While the emails are still running on the previous server, the lists will be migrated to the new server
• For a short time, the emails will be buffered and the routing will be switched to the new server
• The migration of the archives, if any, will take place during operation after all lists have been migrated
